Background Information:

The Obion County Textbook Adoption Committees (K-5 committee, 6-8 committee, and 9-12 committee) being duly appointed by the Board at its October 2013 meeting and having met all requirements of the State, have completed their adoption process for grades K-6 reading textbooks and make the following recommendations as set forth on the attached documents:

Social Studies Grades K-5 Adoption

Social Studies Grades 6-8 Adoption

Social Studies Grades 9-12 Adoption

These textbooks are recommended for a six-year cycle beginning with the 2014-2015 school year. The System must file a Certification of Adoption by the Local Board of Education with the State Department of Education prior to April 15, 2014.

Staff Recommendation:

Based on these Committees' recommendations, we recommend adoption of the above-noted textbooks for a six-year cycle beginning with the 2014-2015 school year.
